I've always said, and will always, that I've got the best job in the world. Every day I pick up a camera and feel revitalized, energized, excited and genuinely thrilled for what's about to (potentially) happen. I've deeply loved photography since I was a young boy, and am grateful (understatement) that I get to do this every day.

Visit me in my studio at 112 N. Walnut to chat. Give a "Like" to my Facebook or Instagram pages (Jeff Norris Photography). Or call me to talk about your photo needs. I'm happy to help. My passion meets your photography requests and together we'll do something really special.

This has been an incredible week for my business, as I've shot senior portraits, corporate work, a wedding and a bald eagle outing with eight delighted guests!  All while my son has been here hanging out after finishing his junior year at Columbia University!  This is the lovely, brilliant, determined and highly-admirable Bloomington South senior Alekhya, who will be enrolling in our beloved IU in September.  More photos of Alekhya on my Facebook page (Jeff Norris Photography).

Haven't had more than a day off portrait work in a couple weeks, and I say that with deep joy.  It's such a remarkable feeling to offer a great product/service at an affordable price and work throughout South-Central Indiana with so many interesting people.....  I always say I've got the world's best job, and I absolutely do.

Call or email me to schedule a portrait for yourself, a family member or a friend.  The light is beautiful this time of year and we're guaranteed to create some gorgeous, timeless images.

I've been shooting Senior Pictures daily for the past month, and am having a great time doing them.  What a joy to spend a couple hours with young adults who are proud of their IU career, excited for their futures and sad about leaving Bloomington....

My Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/jeffnorrisphotography/) is up to 740 "Likes", and I'll announce an upcoming special here:  I'll shoot a complimentary portrait session for the 750th "Like" on my page. This can be used for yourself or you may designate a friend or loved one.

Wedding season is here now, too, and I'm booked nearly every weekend through summer.  Please call or email me (or stop by the studio!) to talk about a date/time we can do YOUR shoot.

Hadn't been out to the classic "Breaking Away" quarry in several years, but walked out there this past week (Little 500 inspired!).  So much has changed over the 35-plus years since the brilliant movie was made here, but the feeling you get when you walk the limestone is unmistakably powerful and poignant. The loss of innocence, the loss of youth, the launch of adulthood.....  This is a crown jewel of South-Central Indiana, and as we walked back to the car we talked about how wonderful it would be for the town/county government to open the land for official, guided, revenue-generating income.  Everyone who comes to Bloomington wants to see this landmark and reminisce about Dave Stoller and his frozen-in-time friends.

Whenever I'm at a "Breaking Away" or "Hoosiers" shooting location, I'm awed by the power of having grown up here during that brilliant, irreplaceable moment in time....

So much fun shooting the Little 500 this weekend at Indiana University.  It's called "The World's Greatest College Weekend" and I'd certainly give it my vote.  Perfect weather, gorgeous spring colors everywhere, the excitement of the race/festivities and the ever-present beautiful merging of IU's spectacular campus into and through the Sample Gates, welcoming everyone into Bloomington.

This Saturday was the first (outdoor) Farmer's Market of 2016 in beautiful Bloomington (April-November).  After strolling through the Market, we walked through the historic Bloomington Antique Mall, through the three levels of vintage floors, walls and, of course, antiques.  For some reason I became a bit nostalgic looking through the 45's, as I have so many great memories of these little gems.  I so vividly remember buying my first (and second, both together) 45 and having no idea what the yellow swirl was, or how to use it!

One of my favorite aspects of photography is something we call (not too clever with the naming....!) "Picture of the Day", and it's a wonderful daily ritual where I message my son every night a photograph I've taken at some point that day.

Max lives in New York City, whereas I'm in the Heartland (Bloomington, Indiana), and it's a visually-tangible way to say "Thinking of you, and here was one moment of my day".  We started the tradition on his first day of college, and we're three years into the evolution (Max is a Junior at Columbia University).

As one of the most iconic lyrics in Rock 'n Roll (at least phonetically) says, "Every picture tells a story, donut...."
